Piercing Flanged Technique is a variant of the "Four Flanged technique" that allows intrascleral fixation, in cases without capsular support, of practically all premium single piece IOLs, whether aspheric, multifocal or toric. It consists of perforating the IOL haptics with a fine needle and passing the 5-0 prolene thread to its flanged intrascleral fixation.
