You Make A Difference

During this challenging time, we would like to share our appreciation and gratitude for the positive contributions you’ve enabled through ASCRS Foundation’s programs. We are inspired by your commitment to serve your community and the world through charitable care and physician education, and we consider ourselves fortunate to work alongside you.

Despite current stresses, we are sharing these moments of joy so you can know the impact on the thousands of lives you’ve touched.

“I am 60 years of age and was unable to find employment due to bad vision. I’m so grateful for such an amazing program that gave me the chance to be a productive member of society again. Thank you for all you have done for me.”
Cornelius, Operation Sight patient recently passed the Commercial Driver's License test and is now employed.

“I got the call from the doctor’s office. I am so thankful and grateful. You just don’t know how much this surgery will make a difference in my life. It’s hard to write this email without bursting into tears! I had almost given up and by the grace of God you responded with such promising news. God Bless You! Thank you!”
Jennifer, Operation Sight patient recently matched with volunteers for charitable surgery

“I encountered one patient who had been blind from cataracts for 9 years. She was totally desperate. I did small incision extracapsular surgery, and the next morning she was counting fingers. She said, ‘This is my birthday! I was just born again!”
Ayalew Allehone, MD, ophthalmologist, Sinskey Eye Institute, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Because of you, joy, confidence and independence has been restored for these patients and thousands of others. We are grateful to all those who donate their time, talent and support who are part of the ASCRS Foundation family. You are truly the heartbeat of the ASCRS Foundation.

We wish you good health and safety and our thoughts are with you, your families and colleagues amidst this unprecedented situation. We look forward to continuing to change lives in the future when we all get through this together.

Sincerely,

The ASCRS Foundation Team
