In an in-vitro study we evaluated the feasibility of a Nd:YAG laser to create a central descemetorhexis in ten human donor corneas. In all corneas a 4 mm descemetorhexis could be consistently performed and the technique proved feasible. Side effects such as stromal pitting and corneal swelling were observed. This video shows the procedure and the most relevant findings.
