Description
The cosmetic results of blue dots and granuloma formation is still an issue in Yamane technique. In the modified version two scleral pockets are made to introduce the burnt haptics. This avoids superficial placement. The blue dot is no longer seen, with better cosmetic outcomes and no haptic granuloma formation. Another advantage is the reduced risk of infection.
